Announcement posted by Epson Australia 22 Jul 2026
Epson will demonstrate its latest on-demand colour labelling and thermal receipt printing solutions at Foodpro 2026, Australia's premier food and beverage manufacturing trade event. Visitors to stand AJ18 at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre will see live demonstrations of how Epson's compact, high-performance printers are helping food producers cut packaging costs, reduce waste and meet strict compliance requirements.
Food and beverage manufacturers face a perfect storm of regulatory complexity, margin pressure and consumer demand for transparency. Australian Food Standards Code requirements demand accurate allergen declarations, ingredient lists, nutritional panels and date coding on every pack, demands that multiply quickly when a producer runs multiple SKUs, pack sizes or seasonal variants.
Traditional pre-printed label workflows force manufacturers to hold costly inventory for each variant, react slowly to recipe changes, and risk writing off obsolete stock when regulations shift. Epson's on-demand colour label technology eliminates these pain points by printing exactly what is needed, when it is needed, directly on the production line.
At Foodpro, Epson's stand AJ18 will demonstrate how food manufacturers can bring label production in-house, slash changeover times from hours to minutes, and gain the agility to respond to market trends without committing to large minimum order quantities from external print suppliers.
Epson products on display kick off with the ColorWorks CW-C4010 compact 4-inch desktop colour label printer built around Epson's PrecisionCore TFP printhead technology. It delivers pigment-based DURABrite ink at resolutions up to 1200 x 1200 dpi, producing labels that resist water, smudging and fading, all critical in refrigerated and wet food production environments.

ColorWorks CW-C4010
For food manufacturers, the ColorWorks CW-C4010 unlocks real-time compliance labelling. Allergen warnings, ingredient changes, nutritional updates and date codes can be applied at the point of packing rather than ordered weeks in advance. The printer handles a wide media range including plain paper, matte stock, synthetic labels and glossy films, giving producers the flexibility to match label material to pack type without changing hardware.
A 2.7-inch colour display and nine-key control panel makes operation straightforward on the factory floor, while individual CMYK cartridges mean colours are only replaced as they deplete, not wasted when one colour runs low. For short-run artisan producers and mid-sized manufacturers alike, the CW-C4010 turns label printing from a procurement bottleneck into a competitive advantage.
Next is the ColorWorks CW-C6510A which takes Epson's on-demand colour technology to an 8-inch print width, making it ideal for large primary labels, outer-case identification, bulk nutritional declarations and promotional branding on larger pack formats. Like the C4010, it uses PrecisionCore TFP printheads and DURABrite pigment inks to deliver 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution with exceptional durability.
A built-in auto-cutter handles both die-cut and continuous media up to 215.9 mm wide, supporting roll-fed and fanfold stock for integration with automated packing lines. The printer's robust feeding mechanism is rated for 150 km before major service, a figure that translates to years of reliable operation in high-throughput meat, dairy and beverage plants.

ColorWorks CW-C6510A
For export-oriented producers, the CW-C6510A solves the multilingual packaging headache. Rather than holding separate pre-printed label stocks for each destination market, manufacturers can print English, Mandarin, Arabic or Japanese labels on demand from the same media roll dramatically reducing inventory carrying costs and eliminating write-offs when export orders change.
Then comes the TM-L100 compact thermal printer designed specifically for liner-free label and receipt applications. Measuring just 140 x 148 x 207 mm and weighing 1.9 kg, it fits where space is tight on packing benches, in commercial kitchens, or directly beside processing equipment.
Liner-free labels eliminate the silicone-coated backing paper that accounts for a significant portion of label waste stream in food manufacturing. With no backing to discard and no adhesive contamination in recycling streams, the TM-L100 supports corporate sustainability targets while reducing floor-level clutter and disposal costs. In allergen-segregated environments, the ability to print ingredient or allergen stickers on demand from a single media roll also removes the risk of cross-contamination from pre-printed label stock.

TM-L100
The TM-L100 prints at 170 mm per second on both liner-free label and standard thermal receipt media, with a 360,000-hour MTBF that points to minimal maintenance intervention. For food producers moving toward plastic-reduction pledges and carbon-footprint reporting, liner-free technology is a visible, measurable step forward.

TM-m30III
Last but by no means least is the TM-m30III cube-format thermal receipt printer measuring just 127 mm on each side and weighing 1.3 kg. Despite its compact footprint, it prints at up to 300 mm per second and supports 80 mm and 58 mm paper widths with automatic width detection. Connectivity options include Ethernet, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, allowing it to drop into existing networked POS or production-management systems with minimal IT overhead.
For food manufacturers and food-service operators alike, the TM-m30III streamlines front-of-house and production-floor communication. Kitchen order tickets, production-job dockets, dispatch confirmations and customer receipts print instantly, reducing errors that creep in when orders are passed verbally or written by hand. Support for QR codes, Data Matrix and GS1-128 barcodes means the printer can output traceability labels, batch tickets and logistics documentation that integrate with ERP and WMS platforms.
A front-facing status LED provides at-a-glance operational feedback across noisy or crowded environments, while the drop-in paper loading mechanism keeps changeovers fast and frustration-free during peak production periods.
Epson's Foodpro stand is not a static product display, it is a working demonstration of how printing technology can directly address the operational and commercial pressures facing Australian food manufacturers today. Epson printers are designed with industrial connectivity standards, REST APIs and label-design software that integrate with MES, ERP and WMS systems. This means labels, receipts and dockets are generated automatically from production data eliminating transcription errors and speeding throughput.
