Cabinet panel to weigh Telangana journalists’ housing plot demand

The long-pending demand for housing plots for journalists in Telangana may move closer to resolution, with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka indicating that the matter is likely to be discussed at the Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting scheduled for Friday.
A delegation of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Journalists Housing Societies met the Deputy CM at Praja Bhavan, urging the government to expedite the allocation of house sites to eligible journalists.
The delegation highlighted that media professionals have been waiting for housing plots for several years, and briefed him on recent developments, including assurances given earlier by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. The JAC pressed for early action on the long-standing demand, IND Today reported.
