Nine appoints new CEO for Pedestrian Group amid strategic shift

This move comes two weeks after the company laid off up to 40 per cent of its staff and saw the departure of its previous CEO.
Rook, who was previously the commercial director of sales and operations at Guardian Australia, will now lead a streamlined version of Pedestrian Group. This restructuring follows the termination of licensing deals with major brands such as Vice, Refinery29, Kotaku, and Gizmodo.
Nine’s chief digital officer, Alex Parsons, highlighted the company's ongoing commitment to youth-focused media, despite the recent cuts.
