Ryan’s HITS residency focused on Scientific Integrity and Research Misconduct
By Will McLennan in Media News on Wednesday, 28th May 2025 at 11:46amFreelance Australian science journalist Jackson Ryan’s - who’s on a residency at Germany’s Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Science - has shared with Influencing what he’s studying and how the program is going.
Ryan said his journalism-in-residency program is focusing on, “issues around scientific integrity and research misconduct”.
“I want to look at how the scientific integrity ecosystem functions here in Germany, and be able to compare that to the Australian system,” Ryan told us.
“Just recently, I met with some of the ombudspeople who work here in Germany to resolve misconduct disputes, and this week I’ve been able to connect quite a few different people over here, and get moving on what that project looks like.”
