By Pradeep Damodaran in Media News on Thursday, 17th October 2024 at 4:33pmNational Conference (NC) vice-president Omar Abdullah was on Wednesday sworn in as Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and Surinder Kumar Choudhary, from the Jammu region who had shifted to NC from BJP, as Deputy Chief Minister during a ceremony presided over by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in Srinagar.
Abdullah was accompanied by five legislators, three from the Jammu region and two from the Kashmir Valley, to the dais to take oath as Ministers.
Peerzada Aashiq for The Hindu quoted Abdullah stating that the Council of Ministers was “meant to convey a message” to the Jammu region, where the BJP won 29 out of 43 seats. “I fulfilled the promise of giving representation to all the regions equally.
