The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has invited applications for two key posts, Member (Finance) and Member (Personnel), on the Prasar Bharati Board. These are full-time roles for a term of six years or until the age of 62, whichever is earlier.  Both positions carry the rank and pay of an Additional Secretary to the Government of India (Level-15 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix). The Finance Member will oversee financial matters, while the Personnel Member will manage HR and administrative functions.  Candidates must have senior-level management experience, with preference given to MBAs in finance or personnel management.   Applications must be submitted by July 12, 2025, via the proper channel, along with the required clearances. As India’s media industry pivots towards digital-first operations and cost-cutting newsrooms, a generation of young journalists is learning that passion alone won’t pay the bills. From elite schools like ACJ, Jamia and IIMC to regional diploma programmes, fresh graduates are entering a field that promises everything but delivers very little. Tanzil Asif, who runs the grassroots news outlet Main Media in Bihar’s Seemanchal region, lays it bare: "There are only a handful of us running this newsroom. We do it out of commitment, not abundance. Because let’s be honest, where are the jobs?" His words echo across campuses, where legacy recruiters have stopped showing up, internships have replaced employment offers, and convocation ceremonies now come with radio silence. To remind people of the power of voting, The Times of India and The Economic Times launched the impactful ‘Ink of Democracy’ campaign, now a Gold winner at the Cannes Lions 2024 in the Print & Publishing category.  Created by Havas Creative India, the campaign used purple ink, the same shade used to mark voters’ fingers, to print entire newspaper pages. These symbolic pages represented the one-third of Indians who didn’t vote in the 2019 elections, leaving 7,500 litres of indelible ink unused.  The special pages ran in TOI’s Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata editions, and in ET’s Bengaluru edition. Each purple page stood for 132 missed voters, totaling 23 lakh pages with the message: “Don’t waste a drop of electoral ink. Don’t waste the power of democracy.”  With over 40 awards already under its belt, the campaign showed how print media can still spark real impact, especially in encouraging civic action.

This brings the long-simmering inheritance dispute within one of Tamil Nadu’s most influential political and business families to a legal confrontation.
