YouTube’s policy update curbs monetisation over inauthentic content

The platform has updated its YouTube Partner Programme (YPP) guidelines to reward creators who produce original content while identifying the channels that use automated, low-effort content to earn money.
In a statement on YouTube’s official support page, it is updated that, “In order to monetize as part of the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), YouTube has always required creators to upload “original” and "authentic" content. On July 15, 2025, YouTube is updating our guidelines to better identify mass-produced and repetitious content. This update better reflects what “inauthentic” content looks like ...
