BBC India restructures with the launch of Collective Newsroom
By Staff Writer in Media News on Friday, 12th April 2024 at 2:49pmThe BBC has restructured its activities in India in order to adhere to the nation's regulations around foreign direct investment (FDI) with the establishment of Collective Newsroom, a new entity would enable it to meet its commitment to audiences in India and globally, while also complying with Indian FDI law.
The Collective Newsroom will be launched today at the Taj Palace in New Delhi. Sharing the news in a LinkedIn post, former BBC journalist and Founder-Director of Collective Newsroom Sanjoy Majumder stated: "After nearly 25 years with the BBC, I have left to launch the Collective Newsroom with three senior BBC colleagues - we will run the bulk of the BBC's India operations in seven languages".
